Extension lecture on ‘Government initiative in e-Governance and m-Governance’
An extension lecture on ‘Government initiative in e-Governance and m-Governance’ was organized by the Post Graduate Department of Computer Science of Multani Mal Modi College, Patiala. Programmer, Mr. Ninit Bansal from Punjab Mandi Board, Mohali was the expert speaker. The objective of this lecture was to provide information to the students regarding functioning of e-governance and m-governance.
Dr. Khushvinder Kumar, Principal of the college motivated the students to make full use of their potential and come up with more ideas that are useful for society. He also advised the students to spend less time on social media apps and concentrate more on learning the innovative technologies.
On this occasion, the students of MSC-IT Hari Singh, Sumash Kumar, Akashdeep Singh and Chanchal demonstrated their project on ‘Students Performance Monitoring System’ developed by them using Java Technologies. The project was appreciated by the expert speaker and by the Principal of the college.
Mr. Nitin Bansal speaking on the topic highlighted various Government initiative in e-Governance and m-Governance like e-SEWA, PAWAN, SSDG, State data Centers and Digital Villages. He also talked about the government policy to increase the income farmers through mobile apps. He also discussed various opportunities available to students in IT sector of various govt. departments.
Dr. Ajit Kumar explained the relevance of the topic in current scenario in the light of Digital India Project of Central Government. Prof. Vinay Garg, Head of the department presented the vote of thank. All faculty members of the department were present during the event.

ਸਥਾਨਕ ਮੁਲਤਾਨੀ ਮੱਲ ਮੋਦੀ ਕਾਲਜ ਵਿੱਖੇ ਪੋਸਟ-ਗ੍ਰੈਜੂਏਟ ਕੰਪਿਊਟਰ ਸਾਇੰਸ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਵੱਲੋਂ ‘ਗੌਰਮਿੰਟ ਇੰਨੀਸ਼ਇਏਟਿਵ ਇੰਨ ਈ-ਗਵਰਨੈਂਸ ਐਂਡ ਐਮ-ਗਰਵਨੈਂਸ’ ਵਿਸ਼ੇ ਤੇ ਇੱਕ ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ ਭਾਸ਼ਣ ਦਾ ਆਯੋਜਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਜਿਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਮੰਡੀ ਬੋਰਡ ਮੁਹਾਲੀ ਤੋਂ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਨਿਤਿਨ ਬਾਂਸਲ, ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮਰ ਨੇ ਮੁੱਖ ਵਕਤਾ ਵਜੋਂ ਸ਼ਿਰਕਤ ਕੀਤੀ। ਇਸ ਭਾਸ਼ਣ ਦਾ ਉਦੇਸ਼ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੁੰ ਮੌਜੂਦਾ ਦੌਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਈ-ਗਵਰਨੈਂਸ ਅਤੇ ਐਮ-ਗਵਰਨੈਂਸ ਦੀ ਉਪਯੋਗਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਫ਼ਾਇਦਿਆਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਜਾਗਰੂਕ ਕਰਨਾ ਸੀ।
ਕਾਲਜ ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਡਾ. ਖੁਸ਼ਵਿੰਦਰ ਕੁਮਾਰ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਤੇ ਮੁੱਖ ਵਕਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਸਰੋਤਿਆ ਦਾ ਸਵਾਗਤ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਅਜਿਹੀਆਂ ਆਧੁਨਿਕ ਤਕਨੀਕਾਂ ਦਾ ਉਪਯੁਕਤ ਉਪਯੋਗ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਸਮਾਜਿਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਖਾਲਿਆ ਕਰਨ ਤੇ ਧਿਆਨ ਦੇਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਸ਼ੋਸਲ ਮੀਡੀਆ ਤੇ ਘੱਟ ਸਮਾਂ ਬਤੀਤ ਕਰਨ ਅਤੇ ਸੂਖਮ ਤਕਨਾਲੋਜੀ ਦੀ ਢੁੱਕਵੀਂ ਵਰਤੋਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਾਹਿਰ ਬਣਨ ਦਾ ਸੱਦਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
ਮੁੱਖ ਵਕਤਾ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਨਿਤਿਨ ਬਾਂਸਲ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਤੇ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਕੁਸ਼ਲ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧਨ ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਸ਼ਾਸਕੀ ਦਿੱਕਤਾ ਨੂੰ ਦੂਰ ਕਰਕੇ ਨਾਗਰਿਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੁਵਿਧਾ ਲਈ ਚਲਾਏ ਗਏ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਡਿਜ਼ੀਟਲ ਉਪਰਾਲਿਆਂ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਕਿ ਈ-ਗਵਰਨੈਂਸ, ਐੱਮ-ਗਵਰਨੈਂਸ, ਈ-ਸੇਵਾ, ਪਵਨ, ਐਸ.ਐਸ.ਡੀ.ਜੀ., ਸਟੇਟ ਡਾਟਾ ਸੈਂਟਰ ਅਤੇ ਡਿਜ਼ੀਟਲ ਵਿਲੇਜ ਦੀ ਵਰਤੋਂ ਅਤੇ ਫ਼ਾਇਦਿਆਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਦਿੱਤੀ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਮੋਬਾਈਲ ਐਪਸ ਦੀ ਵਰਤੋਂ ਨਾਲ ਕਿਸਾਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਆਮਦਨ ਵਧਾਉਣ ਸਬੰਧੀ ਸਰਕਾਰੀ ਪਾਲਿਸੀ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਵੱਖੋ-ਵੱਖਰੇ ਸਰਕਾਰੀ ਅਦਾਰਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਆਈ.ਟੀ.ਸੈਕਟਰ ਵਿਚਲੀਆਂ ਰੋਜ਼ਗਾਰ ਸੁਵਿਧਾਵਾਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਵੀ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਣੂ ਕਰਵਾਇਆ।
ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਦੇ ਸੰਚਾਲਕ ਡਾ. ਅਜੀਤ ਕੁਮਾਰ ਨੇ ਆਧੁਨਿਕ ਸਮੇਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿਸ਼ਿਆਂ ਸਬੰਧੀ ‘ਡਿਜ਼ੀਟਲ ਇੰਡੀਆ ਪ੍ਰੋਜੈਕਟ’ ਦੇ ਸੰਦਰਭ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਦੀ ਮਹੱਤਤਾ ਬਾਰੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ। ਧੰਨਵਾਦ ਦਾ ਮਤਾ ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਵਿਨੇ ਗਰਗ, ਵਿਭਾਗ ਮੁੱਖੀ ਨੇ ਪੇਸ਼ ਕੀਤਾ। ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਤੇ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਦੇ ਸਮੂਹ ਸਟਾਫ਼ ਅਤੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀ ਹਾਜ਼ਰ ਸਨ।
